Lakeville Planning Board Approves Long Point Road ADU, Taunton Street ANR Plan

LAKEVILLE — June 25, 2026 — Lakeville Planning Board approves Long Point Road accessory dwelling unit and cross-border ANR plan. The board voted unanimously Thursday to approve a 900-square-foot ADU above a garage at 55 Long Point Road, submitted by Derek Maxey, after receiving confirmation of a passing water analysis from the Board of Health and accepting that a pending septic certificate of compliance would be covered by standard conditions. The board also endorsed an approval-not-required plan for 92 Taunton Street — a parcel that straddles the Lakeville-Taunton line — after a Silver Engineering Associates representative explained that Taunton officials had signed the plan in the wrong spot at their own meeting, forcing a corrected single-member signature. In a separate vote, the board authorized a member to contact the Economic Development Committee about a joint meeting on August 13. The board also voted to ask consultant Alexander Bergstrom to strip stormwater-dependent provisions from the draft open space residential development bylaw so it can proceed to fall Town Meeting independently, with those provisions held for a future warrant article once a stormwater bylaw advances. A board-adjacent participant named Sue pressed for answers on the Lakeville Country Club zoning overlay, saying residents have received "no communication" about a project that was expected before town voters as early as last fall.
