Planning Board · Meeting of August 27, 2026

LAKEVILLE — The Lakeville Planning Board voted unanimously to replace its 1987 subdivision rules with a Lakeville-tailored rewrite and endorsed a new house lot on Montgomery Street. Chair Michele T. MacEachern said the new rules, developed over roughly a year with the regional planning agency SRPEDD and town counsel, add detailed sidewalk, lighting and bonding standards, including a provision that "sidewalks shall be constructed within the subdivision" unless hardship or public interest is shown.

The board also voted to withdraw a placeholder accessory dwelling unit bylaw from the fall Town Meeting warrant, opting instead to work with SRPEDD on a custom version for spring Town Meeting. Members cited pending state legislation on duplex-by-right zoning as a factor. The board separately approved an approval-not-required plan for 48A Montgomery Street, presented by Zenith Consulting Engineers' Jamie, and approved minutes from two earlier 2026 meetings with minor corrections.
