Planning Board · Meeting of October 22, 2026

LAKEVILLE — The Lakeville Planning Board voted unanimously to recommend two new zoning bylaws, covering battery energy storage systems and open space residential development, to fall Town Meeting. Chair Michele T. MacEachern and Member Donna J. Guay led review of the 17-section battery-storage bylaw, which bars large systems from flood zones and water-protection areas and allows them only by special permit in industrial districts. The board also voted to fix a drafting error in the open-space bylaw's Section 9.4 on the Town Meeting floor.

Separately, the board voted to ask Town Counsel to meet with members to resolve unanswered questions about the long-pending Lakeville Country Club senior-housing overlay, including building heights up to 50 feet and density of five units per acre. The board approved its September 24 minutes 4-0, with Guay recused on one matter, and signed the Mystic Estates subdivision mylar.
