Lakeville's Zoning Board of Appeals continued a heated appeal over alleged commercial firewood processing at 11 School Street rather than rule Thursday night. Building Commissioner Nathan Darling testified he lifted an April 2025 cease-and-desist order after the property owners said their wood stove use was personal, despite photos and doorbell-camera footage showing a "Walsh logging" truck making 13 trips off the property in November alone. Attorney Markey, representing petitioner Paul Turner of 1 Ledgewood Drive, argued "there is no legal requirement" to prove a point of sale.
Neighbor Travis Valancourt said "it's very clear that he's running a commercial business," while another resident alleged wood was sold for roughly $500 a crate. The board voted unanimously to continue the hearing to February 12 at 6 p.m., giving Darling time to weigh the new testimony before any ruling.
