Select Board · Meeting of September 29, 2026
Lakeville Select Board locks in $10 million fire station bond before rates climb further. The board voted 5-0 to permanently bond $10 million for the fire station and $1,600,255 for the Assawompset windows and doors project, at a locked rate of 4.38 percent, with the first tax impact hitting bills this December. Members also approved a 9 percent snowplow contractor rate hike and a $10-an-hour CDL stipend after DPW staff reported the town was 10 contractors short last winter, appointed Brendan Burnham as a new police officer, and authorized two Community Preservation Act applications worth up to $245,000 combined for John Pond Park and affordable-housing down-payment assistance.
The board also accepted the resignation of Rodney Dixon as master plan committee chair, who wrote the panel has "responsibility, but not the authority" to implement the town's vision.
