Select Board · Meeting of October 20, 2026
Lakeville Select Board got an update on truss repairs at the town's new fire station and signed the warrant for its November 18 Special Town Meeting. Project manager Taylor and architect Kyle told the board that 19 roof trusses twisted after installation when bracing failed in high winds, but a third-party structural engineer found no broken wood members and said repairs, done at contractor Page Construction's expense, were about 90 percent complete. The $17 million project remains under budget, with contingency funds "extremely healthy" at over $6 million, officials said.
Members Paul Hunt and Kristen Howard pushed back on who should pay for a mistaken door-color change order, with one member saying, "If the order had been right to begin with, that we wouldn't have had to pay that change fee of 25 percent." The board also voted 4-0 to send a battery energy storage system bylaw to the Planning Board and tabled a $1,500 permit fee waiver for George R. Austin Intermediate School pool repairs pending more detail on a pool lease arrangement.
