Lakeville's Planning Board ratified a data center zoning bylaw for town meeting and continued two land-use applications at its April 23 session. The board unanimously sent the bylaw, modeled on language from Mansfield and restricting data centers to specific overlay zones by special permit, to an upcoming town meeting, with the chair stressing the measure "is not in response to any pending application." A site plan review for Cranberry Campus LLC's proposed 29,400-square-foot cold storage addition and four new truck dock bays at 234 Kenneth Welch Drive was continued to May 14 pending final conditions review, with the applicant confirming a new on-site well and Taunton Water for fire suppression rather than municipal supply. An approval-not-required plan for 115 and 117 Kingman Street was also continued to May 14 after attorney Christopher Alfin agreed to submit a formal opinion of title to town counsel addressing fee ownership of a paper street bisecting the two lots.

The board also appointed member Donna Gay as its new liaison to a regional planning commission, and the chair said she intends to pursue a joint meeting with the Select Board on the stalled Lakeville Country Club development agreement.
