Lakeville Select Board unanimously relocates June 20 Old Colony building-project polling site and adds electronic voting article to annual town meeting warrant. The board voted 5-0 at its April 28 meeting to move the one-time polling location from Loon Pond Lodge at Ted Williams Camp to Assa Wamsit Elementary School after a scheduling conflict made the lodge unavailable. Old Colony Superintendent Paul told the board that repair costs for the school building project have escalated from $134 million to $157 million since the project was first presented, saying "escalation is our enemy" and arguing that a September revote would further erode construction contingency.

The board also voted to open, amend, and close the June 8 annual town meeting warrant to add an article authorizing 400 grant-funded electronic voting devices for use at town meetings beginning this fall. In a separate unanimous vote, the board directed Town Administrator Andrew to retain a neutral, credentialed enforcement official to evaluate a disputed roadway on Beachtree Drive after Fire Chief Michael P. O'Brien formally disclosed a conflict of interest stemming from his membership in the neighborhood homeowners association responsible for maintaining the road.
