Park Commission · Meeting of October 22, 2026

LAKEVILLE — The Lakeville Park Commission rejected the only proposal submitted to lease Loon Pond Lodge and ordered staff to reissue the bid solicitation. Commissioners said the current tenant pays $10,500 a month in rental fees plus annual room fees, and warned that the sole bid's plan to drop room fees would cost the enterprise fund "over $100,000 a year," which they called unsustainable. Clerk Peter Murdy said youth soccer organizers "still not responded at all" to requests for clinic payment documentation.

The commission also weighed adopting a formal lifeguard uniform policy, citing complaints about string bikinis and a Red Cross guideline calling for red-and-yellow suits for rescue visibility, but took no vote. Commissioners approved September 24 minutes unanimously and adjourned at 6:57 p.m.
